Lotus Burnquist is a self-taught artist born and raised in California. She grew up around the skate scene and was inspired by the perseverance and drive of those around her. She just so happens to be the daughter of two legendary skateboarders, Bob Burnquist and Jen O’Brien. Now at 21, she’s currently living in Texas and is working on her art full-time. She was recently visiting her grandparents at Bob’s house in Vista. It was here that T-Mag met Lotus, and discovered she’s an outstanding artist in her own right.

The hardest part of flipping through her really great portfolio was to pick something we could immediately work on, her and Mag settled on the “Lotus Palm of Destiny”, which is now becoming part of the H-Street Alpha Girls line of products. It’s a colab between Lotus and H-Street and we are hopefully going to work with her on other designs as well, which we are super excited about.

Lotus has a lot to say about her art, about life and about having had a front row seat to some of skateboarding's most awesome individuals and events at large. Here’s her thoughts on this piece of art and collaboration with H-Street…

“I want to start off by saying I’m extremely grateful for this amazing opportunity to be working with H-street on this board and to be able to showcase my art while supporting female skaters everywhere. I’ve seen how hard people work to make a name for themselves in this industry and the true blood, sweat, and tears it takes to master such an art. I’ve always been inspired by the mystical and magical aspects of life, in my art and in everything I do. I wanted to showcase that side of me through my designs while still making something awesome that women would be proud to skate on and feel badass while doing so. With this particular piece my message is that; your destiny is in your own hands, but you still have to put in the work. So whatever you do, do it 100% and watch how the universe unfolds for you.”

We are offering the Lotus Palm of Destiny in four street shapes, 8.0, 8.25, 8.5 and 8.75. The smaller two are printed on mixed dyed veneer and the the two larger are printed on a prismatic metallic background.

We are also making it as an Epoxy Everslick with Addison Taylor’s shape.
