For day 6, we have the original re-issue of the legendary Matt Hensley Kingsize Eagle, G Series, along with Matt’s own Blockprint version graphic that we did a couple of years ago, when Matt was inducted into the Hall of Fame of Skateboarding.
The original Kingsize Eagle was drawn in the 80 by legendary artist Francesco “Jekill” Albertini and has proven to be one of the most classic and enduring images of all time. The deck was made in California by Legend Skateboards. We have painstakingly re-created the graphic and had it hand silk screened by Screaming Squeegees in a variety of different custom and artistic treatments. Shown in the image is the Hydrodip, a very tough to master technique that Screaming has perfected over the years. There were 200 made in the Original Re-Issue of the Kingsize Eagle G Series.
Matt’s blockprint is a rather ancient technique of hand cutting a vinyl block and using it as a stamp. Matt discovered the old school print technique and decided to master it and has made a number a very cool and impressive blockprint projects, including his own graphic. This deck is made on the Full Size Mini shape that Matt and his buddy Ned Haden designed for this purpose, making it an all-around fun shape that is highly functional.
